Pacing beads are used as a manual counting tool used to keep track of distance traveled through a pace (step) counting process. The method relies on a very basic and ancient counting method similar to an abacus.
When paired with a compass and map, this tool can be a valuable and reliable navigational process while Camping, Hiking, Hunting, Fishing, Geocaching, etc. The set attaches to a belt or backpack D-rings or Molle straps using a simple hardware-free loop. Each set features 13 beads (4-upper, 9-lower) strung onto a nylon cord which will allow you to track up to 5 kilometers of travel distance.
